Herkomst koffiebonen
Ethiopie, officieel de Federale Democratische Republiek Ethiopie, is een land in Oost-Afrika.
Het grenst aan Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalie, Kenia en Soedan. Ethiopië heeft een oppervlakte van ruim 1,1 miljoen vierkante kilometer. Ethiopie is op dit ogenblik de 10e grootste koffieproducent van de wereld en produceert jaarlijks ruim 8 miljoen balen (1 baal = 60 kg groene koffiebonen), dat is 5% van de wereldproductie.
Koffie uit Ethiopie bevat een licht zuurtje. Dit zuurtje is erg aantrekkelijk in een krachtige espresso.
